Skin Problems

The skin is one of the most vulnerable organs of the body.
Skin disorders can be uncomfortable and  can lead to psychological stress.

                                                  SKIN PROBLEMS
Conditions
  • Acne: it's a chronic disorder of the hair follicles and sebaceous glands that causes clogged pores leading to pimple outbreaks, cysts, infected abscesses (areas of pus), and, sometimes, scarring
  • Bed sores: i.e. ulcers that occur on areas of the skin that are under pressure from lying in bed, sitting in a wheelchair, and/or wearing a cast for a prolonged period of time
  • Calluses and Corns: calluses are protective pads made up of the thickened upper layer of skin due to repeated rubbing of the area. Corns are small calluses that develop on the top of the toes due to pressure or rubbing against shoes or other toes.
  • Sebaceous Cysts: cysts are harmless, slow-growing bumps under the skincontaining dead skin and other skin particles which often appearing on the scalp, face, ears, back, or groin area
  • Dry Skin: it features irritated skin and itchiness and may become scaly. Dry skin often worsens in the winter, when the air is cold and dry.
  • Keratosis Pilaris: it's characterized by small, pointed pimples that usually appear on the upper arms, thighs, and buttocks. The condition worsens in the winter and usually clears up in the summer
  • Pityriasis rosea: it's a mild skin condition featuring scaly, pink, inflamed skin
  • Psoriasis: it's a chronic skin condition characterized by inflamed, red, raised areas that often develop as silvery scales on the scalp, elbows, knees, and lower back
  • Rosacea: it's a common skin condition featuring redness, pimples, and broken blood vessels that usually only affects the face and eyes and occurs after middle age
Rashes
  • Dermatitis: it's an inflammation of the skin, characterized by skin that may be red, swollen, blistered, scabbed, scaly, oozing, or itchy
  • Erythema Multiforme: it's characterized by symmetrically placed, red, raised skin areas all over the body "targets"-like
  • Erythema Nodosum: it feautures by tender, red bumps, usually found on the shins, and quite often, it's a sign of some other disease, or of a sensitivity to a drug
  • Granuloma annulare: it's a chronic skin condition characterized by small, raised bumps that form a ring with a normal or sunken center

Skin Sweating Disorders
  • Excessive sweating:aka hyperhidrosis, it can affect the entire body, but usually occurs in the palms, soles, armpits, and/or groin area; it may signal thyroid problems, low blood sugar levels, or a nervous system disorder.
  • Prickly heat:  skin rash caused by trapped sweat under the skin that can occur when the narrow ducts through which sweat travels to the surface become clogged
