Fungi (singular fungus) are a kingdom of eukaryotic organisms.
Yeasts, molds, and mushrooms are examples of fungi.
Many fungi are parasites on plants, animals (including humans), and other fungi.
Fungal infections in humans are called mycosis and the transmission is usually through inhalation or direct contact with ground, plants, individuals, or animals infected. Other leading factors are hygiene insufficiency, long therapy with antibiotics, obesity, diabetes, excessive use of detergents.
Usually, mycosis affects nails, mucous membranes, skin, and hair, and is localized in most humid areas of the body, such us between fingers and toes, under armpit, behind knees.
