Acid Reflux

Acid Reflux or Gastroesophageal reflux disease is a chronic symptom due to the abnormal reflux in the esopahgus linked to the damage of the barrier between the esophagus and the stomach.

It may be caused by:

• transient cardia relaxation
• impaired heart function
• impaired expulsion of acid reflux from the esophagus
• hiatus hernia

The main symptoms of acid reflux may be:

• heartburn
• chest pain
• esophagitis
• dysphagia (difficult swallowing)
• cough
• hoarseness
• ear ache
• nausea
• synusitis
